Nine Apart
Sudoku, from Easy to Expert. Nine rows, nine columns, nine boxes, each holding one to nine once, and nothing timed against you.
Every puzzle has exactly one answer, checked by solving it all the way through rather than stopping at the first solution. And none needs a guess: a puzzle that cannot be finished with a written list of human solving techniques is thrown away rather than labelled Expert. Difficulty is which reasoning a puzzle asks for, not how few numbers it starts with.
There is no pen or pencil switch. One number in a square is an answer and is drawn large; two or more are notes and are drawn small. Selecting a square tints its row, column and box, lights the numbers already in it on the pad, and tints every other square holding the same number.
Nothing is punished. A wrong number gets no warning while you play. When the grid is full the status line says whether it is right, and only if you ask are the wrong squares marked.

HOW TO PLAY
Click or tap a square, then a number on the pad. Tap the same number again to take it back, and Clear this square empties it.
On a keyboard, type 1 to 9. Backspace, Delete or 0 empties the square, and the arrow keys move between squares.
